Objectives

Defensive Objectives

Bloodless – End of Phase 1 you score this as none of your warriors are in range
Consecrate Area – End f phase 1 again if you have placed correctly you should score this as well

Sigmars Bulwark – See bloodless

Stymied – Usually, in turn one its mostly movement especially on their 4th activation.

Flawless Strategy – If you end up pulling this with any the above you score an additional 1

Ploymaster – With 12 Ploy’s you can pretty much guarantee this will be scored.

Offensive Objectives – To be used in Phase 2 or 3 NOT phase 1

Lightning Strikes – Unless the dice gods hate you this should be easy unless you are playing against orcs

Awe– Inspiring – Again unless you are playing against orcs this is also easy
Slayer of Tyrants – If you are playing skeletons you must kill the warden as fast as possible. If you do you not only get 1 glory for killing him but an additional for this objective.

Phase 3 Objectives

Denial – Again phase 1 you defend, gear up and in phase 2 push them out of your area

Contained – Again in phase 2 and phase 3 if you remove all the enemies in your territory this is an easy objective to score.

Superior tactician – Score 6 or more objectives. Easy.

Essentially, if you play TO the objectives in the 1st phase you should be sitting on 2 Glory from Objectives. During the 2nd Phase you should be sitting on 3 or 4 more (Killing them and scoring your own objectives and finally, in phase 3 is the back breaker. Essentially you can score up to 9 objectives. Most games I average 10 Glory per game.

Ploys

Forceful Denial – One of the most underrated cards in the game. On shields or critical which is 50% of the time it can be a game changer. Healing potion? Denied. Dual of Wits? Denied.

Illusory Fighter – Great card to either quickly remove one your guys back to their safe zone. Move him back to clean up any enemy fighters in your area, of the best trick is to move him adjacent to one of your fighters for that added support.

Confusion – Chose 2 of their, 2 of yours, 1 of each. Repositioning on the battlefield is pretty good

Sidestep – One of your guys 1 hex too far, push him up. Worried that you are about to be charged? Move him back. Again, repositioning is amazing.
Sprint – Most people don’t include this, but I have seen what the Warden can do 1st hand. You most get to him as quickly as possible before he starts going crazy. Additionally, I will use like illusory fighter.

Mighty Swing – Just amazing when you are surrounded by everyone

Tireless assault – Miss? Sure, I’ll attack again
Healing Potion – No comment needed

Peal of Thunder – Good card to pull them towards you or off an objective. Yes, its situational but if you do it correctly it can be devastating.

Time Trap – I feel this is a very good card to optimize SC with the ability have another activation.
Dual of Wits – Drawing more cards is amazing
Daylight Robbery – Good card that pretty much swings you 2 glory in your favor.

Upgrades

I personally do not like upgrade specific card, especially in stormcast with exception to 1.

Fatal Riposte – Free attacks? Yes please.

6th Sense – I like this card because I am often outnumbered. This is a passive defensive bonus and at this point and can be swapped out

Blessed by Sigmar – +1 Wounds is great especially for stormcast

Great Strength – Pretty much auto include in any an all decks. Can potentially 1 shot orcs.

Soultrap – Keeping your SC alive is key to ensure you obtain more glory
Blessed Armor – Again healing and keeping them alive is key, while it is a crit

Cursed Artifact – This is one of the most hated cards alive, but it is amazing. Once you have an inspired SC they now have 3 defense dice. With the combination of healing potion, blessed armor and blessed by sigmar there is high probability whomever you have placed this one is going to be very difficult to remove off the table you can combo this with the final upgrade card

Army of One – Now that you have your inspired stormcast with cursed artifact and army of one and that’s 4-defensive dice.

So, there you have it, I have gone 6-2 with this deck very pretty much every other deck out there. My loss came against my Skeletons and Orcs warband which I will list later.

Feedback would be great.

Blessed Armor – Again healing and keeping them alive is key, while it is a crit

Helpful Whispers – With only 3 character chances are you will be alone. Adding a 1-support means you have a better chance of out-right killing an opponent.

Thoughts

Here is my Stormcast deck along with the card choice and a description as too why I chose these cards.

SC does a horrible job at any type of hold objectives or anything that requires 3 more surviving members. Objective based SC is out of the question. Cards like Geared for war is also out of the question. Where SC excels are both early and late game (Phase 1 and Phase 3). For this to work you need to understand a few things. Every other war-band is set up for 1 or 2 things, attacking or objective grabbing. Each of these strategies rely on them coming to you. In order to optimize your SC they rely on upgrades. They don’t need much so every upgrade is exponential. Knowing this, setting up your board is key. Chose the side which is the furthest from. By doing so you will generally score at least 2 Glory up to 3 in phase 1.

So, there you have it, I have gone 6-2 with this deck very pretty much every other deck out there. My loss came against my Skeletons and Orcs warband which I will list later.
